All hands on deck

Sorry for another gap in my blogging. Life has been pretty busy as ever. We officially collected the keys for the holiday flat on Friday (hurrah) and followed up with a very busy weekend. Here’s a bit of a summary of our progress so far.

The old kitchen is gone and our very talented joiner has started fitting the new one. It’ll be light bright and modern with a cooker and induction hob, fridge with freezer compartment and build in microwave oven. It’ll be finished this weekend and oak laminate flooring will be going down in the kitchen and hallway too.

The bathroom has been totally regrouted and looks like a new bathroom. (Thanks dad!) The seals and shower will be replaced next week too.

The bedroom wood has been sanded and we are busy painting away. It’s taking a lot of effort to paint out the wood but it does look so much lighter already. The shutters are in full working order and are a lovely feature of the flat.

Its been a very sunny few days so we’ve tried to paint in the garden as much as possible. Although a certain little helper has been a bit too keen to assist with the painting.

The soft furnishings are in progress with blinds ordered and cushions in progress (thanks Moira). Here is one of the beautiful bedroom cushions and we have a matching window seat pad ready and waiting.

Lots more work should be happening in the next few days. Hopefully I’ll have some good progress to share next week.
